During Milan Design Week, Il Giardino di Carta comes to life in the Secret Garden of Teatro Franco Parenti as a meeting point between art, paper and contemporary languages. For this occasion, Alessandro Enriquez invites three creative realities — Folllit, Fossen Distilleria Profumi and Antonio Monereo — to enter into dialogue with colour and the material of paper through original interventions spanning painting, artistic gesture and olfactory research. The Instituto Cervantes sponsors Alessandro Enriquez’s initiative, which includes the inclusion of Spanish painter Antonio Monereo within the event programme.

20 April — Folllit

Valerio Romano is an art director and visual designer based in Padua, trained between Belgium and Italy. He develops visual identities through an analogue and experimental approach, and is the founder of Taqquini, an upcycling project for the production of handcrafted notebooks using recovered paper.
For Il Giardino di Carta, Folllit works on a selection of notebooks from the Alessandro Enriquez x Kartos capsule, reinterpreting them through an artistic intervention that transforms the editorial object into a visual support and creative gesture. Colour becomes an instrument of direct relationship with matter, activating a dialogue between mark, surface and design identity.

20 April — Fossen Distilleria Profumi

Fossen Distilleria Profumi is an independent Sicilian artistic perfumery maison born from an interrupted family story and a contemporary sensibility, weaving together memory, research and vision. The project, curated by David Distefano, emerges from the encounter between memory and composition, between the sartorial gesture and the contemporary language of perfume. Each fragrance is conceived as a narrative act, built with rigour and sensitivity, in which the formal structure of the French perfumery tradition enters into dialogue with Italian elegance and a deeply Sicilian emotional matrix. Fossen conceives perfume as a cultural object, capable of evoking stories, places and atmospheres, and of establishing a personal and conscious relationship with the wearer.
For Il Giardino di Carta, Fossen presents Viaggio di Carta — two fragrances dedicated to the material of paper and the spaces that contain it: an olfactory project conceived for books, notebooks, wallpapers and domestic environments, in which paper becomes a living presence and sensory atmosphere, accompanying space with discretion and elegance.
22 April — Antonio Monereo

Antonio Monereo (Madrid, 2001) is a contemporary artist whose pictorial research unites a solid classical training with a strongly personal vision. He began his journey studying and copying the works of the great masters at the Museo del Prado — an experience that helped define the foundations of his visual language. His current practice grows from a continuous search for meaning through painting, focusing on the human figure immersed in enigmatic atmospheres where surrealist, magical and mythological elements coexist, sustained by an expressive use of colour. Through these suspended, dreamlike narratives, his work invites introspection and constructs a space in which reality and imagination enter into dialogue.
For Il Giardino di Carta, Monereo brings a pictorial reflection on the symbolic dimension of the figure and of colour as narrative and emotional instruments. The project is realised under the patronage of the Instituto Cervantes, the official body of the Spanish state for the promotion of the language and culture of the Spanish-speaking world, long committed to fostering dialogue between cultures through exhibition programmes, educational activities and interdisciplinary initiatives.
