From fashion to design, the Mediterranean becomes the blue thread connecting the creative worlds of Alessandro Enriquez and Cappellini. AZZURRO is born: the collaboration between Alessandro Enriquez and Cappellini, presented during Milan Fashion Week and inspired by the new Spring Summer 2027 collection “Olimpo d’Amore.”
Alessandro Enriquez reinterprets Cappellini’s iconic Bac chair, selected together with Giulio Cappellini, dressing it in a distinctive shade of blue inspired by Greece and loulaki, the
traditional pigment powder in ultramarine tones that has been part of the Greek islands’ colour palette for centuries.
It is the colour of the doors and windows that punctuate the white façades of Greek houses, of the sky meeting the sea, of that Mediterranean light that, in an ideal sense, connects Greece and Sicily. The same shade of blue runs through “Olimpo d’Amore” and, from the collection, enters the world of design, transforming Bac into an element of the same narrative.

AZZURRO is thus born from the encounter between two different yet complementary Italian languages. Cappellini’s design rigour, research and design culture meet Alessandro
Enriquez’s pop, ironic and Mediterranean universe.
“Together with Giulio, we chose Bac because I wanted to start from a shape that was already strong and recognisable, intervening without altering its identity. I simply dressed it in the colour that, more than any other, tells the story of my journey through Greece. A shade of blue that contains the sea, the sky, the houses and that Mediterranean light which, for me, connects Greece to my Sicily. AZZURRO is precisely this: a colour that becomes a place, a memory and an encounter,” says Alessandro Enriquez.
With AZZURRO, fashion and design become part of a single landscape. The chair is no longer simply an object, but a presence within Enriquez’s “Olimpo d’Amore”, a
contemporary statement capable of bringing a fragment of the Mediterranean into the domestic space.
The special interpretation of the Bac chair by Alessandro Enriquez x Cappellini will be presented in Milan on the same day as the debut of the Spring Summer 2027 collection
“Olimpo d’Amore.”
