The new Alessandro Enriquez A/W 2024 collection draws inspiration from the world of flowers — all of them, without exception — bringing together different forms, species and colours into fantastical, surreal prints, and choosing to be represented by the symbol that has always stood for peace.

“I have always told the story of love through my collections, and season after season AMORE AMORE AMORE — embroidered, printed or jacquard — has become my most iconic slogan. Dressing in love has always been my most beautiful proposal. Today, however, my attention turns to the necessity of returning to that love. I believe that fashion too must cry out for a ceasefire, and with the voice of my brand — small as it may be — I want to challenge the silence of our society and have my collection extend an invitation, a request, a wish: to put an end to tensions and conflicts, and to find our way back to love and stillness.

I don’t want to make a political statement — I want to make one of Peace. PACE CI PIACE will be this season’s claim, my new message to share in the hope that it reaches everyone. Every day we witness tragedies, massacres, far too many innocent lives lost. Too many men, women and children are leaving us.

“Flowers of love,” “polka-dot flowers,” “flowers of fire,” Alessandro’s “flower market” bloom again in a Dalí-esque atmosphere, where vivid hydrangeas, wildflowers in full celebration, daisy checks and a host of lucky insects — the ladybird, the bee, the beetle — are the true protagonists of a collection warm in its proposal, wrapping us in love and reminding us that all of us, like flowers, are children of this earth from which the most beautiful blooms spring — but only if we preserve them.

Alessandro collaborates with the flower designers of Il Profumo dei Fiori on a capsule of t-shirts and sweatshirts, together distributing free “flower bombs” — the only kind permitted to explode in beauty — so that colourful, fresh blooms can flower everywhere: on a balcony, in a pot, in a park or garden, effortlessly and joyfully.

The designer’s drawings rest gently on natural fabrics such as silk, viscose, wool and cotton poplin, but also on technical materials like nylon, creating a winter atmosphere defined by colour and positivity.
